In the mission “Bury the Hatchet,” Michael and Trevor confront their past and uncover secrets that have been buried for years. The mission starts with Trevor finding out that Brad, their old accomplice, is dead and buried in North Yankton instead of being in prison as Michael had led him to believe.

Trevor forces Michael to travel to North Yankton to exhume Brad’s body and confirm the truth. The tension between the two escalates as they reach the cemetery and begin to dig. As they confront each other, Merryweather agents ambush them, leading to a firefight.

Michael and Trevor must work together to eliminate the agents and escape the cemetery. During the chaos, Trevor discovers the truth about Brad’s death and Michael’s betrayal. The mission concludes with Trevor leaving Michael behind as their relationship hits a breaking point.
