In a recent investor call and traditional quarterly review, Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take Two Interactive, revisited the release date of GTA 6. The company has repeatedly confirmed that the game is still scheduled for this fall and remains very confident about the launch.

Investor Call Highlights

This evening, Take Two Interactive held its new investor call. Although no exact release date or specific details were provided, as expected, Strauss Zelnick emphasized multiple times that Grand Theft Auto VI is still on track for fall 2025. Moreover, the development is progressing very well, and the company is showing great confidence.

During the call, Strauss Zelnick highlighted four major releases expected in 2025:

  1. Civilization VII – February 11, 2025
  2. Mafia The Old Country – Summer 2025
  3. Grand Theft Auto VI – Fall 2025
  4. Borderlands 4 – 2025

Zelnick confirmed that GTA 6 is set to release before Borderlands 4. This suggests that the release of GTA 6 is likely set for September or October, while Borderlands 4 may be scheduled for November or December 2025.

Interview Insights

In addition to the investor call, Strauss Zelnick spoke with IGN regarding the release of GTA 6. During the interview, he reiterated the fall release date: “Listen, there’s always a risk of delays, and I think that as soon as you say words like ‘absolutely’, you jinx it.” He continued, “We feel very good about this,” when asked if GTA 6 will be ready by the end of the year.

Regarding the game’s progress, development, communication, and release in comparison to other industry studios, Zelnick stated, “Listen, I think the game is highly anticipated, both internally and externally. We know that Rockstar strives for perfection. I never claim success before it happens. I like to say that arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we’re all cautious and looking over our shoulders, knowing that the competition is not asleep. Our entire organization is very enthusiastic.”

Take Two Interactive and Strauss Zelnick appear to be very confident. This confidence is reassuring, especially given how much Take Two has emphasized the subject.
