GTA Chinatown Wars rampages are scoring challenges that start when you pick up a white skull in Liberty City. There are 30 of them in the game (35 on PSP), and you need at least a Bronze medal on every one for 100% completion. This page explains how a rampage works; it does not list the position of each of the 30 skulls.
Key facts
- Total: 30 rampages, or 35 in the PlayStation Portable version
- Pickup: a white skull, collected on foot while no mission is active
- Time limit: 1 minute 30 seconds
- Goal: reach the Target Score by killing gang members and destroying their vehicles
- 100% requirement: at least Bronze on all of them
How a rampage plays
You trigger a rampage by walking onto the skull. You are given a weapon, and in some rampages one or more Triad henchmen help you fight. The aim is to hit a specific Target Score before the 1:30 timer ends. Every kill and every destroyed gang vehicle adds points, and a chain kill, meaning several enemies killed in quick succession, gives a big score boost.
The Target Score is not identical on every version. The mobile releases by War Drum Studios use lower Target Score points because of the touchscreen controls.
Medals and replays
Win or lose, you can start a rampage again straight away from its original spawn point. The skull changes appearance depending on your best result so far, with a different look for an unfinished rampage and for Bronze, Silver and Gold. That makes it simple to see on the map which ones still need work. Bronze is enough to count toward the full total in the 100% completion checklist; Silver and Gold are optional improvements.
Tips from the format
Since you only have 90 seconds, stay close to the henchmen and go for groups so you can chain kills. If you want more weapon-and-score practice, the Liberty City Gun Club has scored courses, and the Riding Shotgun missions work in a similar way from a vehicle. The enemy gangs you will meet are described in the GTA Chinatown Wars lexicon.
