How to unlock the Armored Boxville
Special Vehicle Work 7, End of Transmission, becomes available after 28 vehicles. Special Vehicle Work missions are SecuroServ jobs for two to four players, unlocked at Rank 1 once you have completed enough Vehicle Cargo missions. Finishing it lets you buy the van at the SecuroServ trade price; buying a special vehicle is also the requirement for its linked Organization Work missions. The van is stored in the Underground Garage and you can request it through the Interaction Menu.
Armored Boxville armor and speed
Despite the name, protection is rather low. The armor adds no extra resistance to explosions, so one RPG hit or grenade destroys it. The windows resist bullets for a while but shatter after only a dozen or so, and the tires are not bulletproof. It cannot be modified at Los Santos Customs, so those weaknesses stay.
The weight also makes it slow, as the compact engine struggles to push the rear wheels. The front wedge gives it great ramming power through traffic with little loss of speed.
Turret stats
The roof carries a .50 caliber machine gun with a base damage of 150, about 410 rounds per minute and a range of 500 meters. Its elevation is limited to between -10 and 20 degrees, so it is poor against close targets, targets on tall structures and low-flying aircraft. The gunner has only partial protection to the rear and can fall out if the van flips.
