GTA 6 Map: Interactive Map of Leonida, Every Region and Official Screenshot

This interactive GTA 6 map pins everything Rockstar has shown of Leonida, the fictional state where Grand Theft Auto VI takes place, on a provisional base map until the game launches. You will find the six official regions, the places Rockstar has named and every official screenshot, each with a short description. There is no official map yet, so positions are approximate and the base map is a schematic. From November 19, we will replace them with positions checked in the game.

Key facts

  • Leonida has six official regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
  • Rockstar North’s Aaron Garbut told Game Informer the map is about twice the size of GTA V’s.
  • The New York Times reported it is about three times the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2.
  • No official size in square kilometers and no full, readable map have been published.
  • A double-sided poster in the $399.99 collector’s box includes a map of Leonida.

The interactive GTA 6 map (provisional until launch)

This is a provisional map. Until GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, it uses our own schematic of Leonida and approximate positions; we will then replace it with a map checked in the game. Use the search box to find a place, the categories to filter pins, and scroll or the buttons to zoom. Every pin opens an official screenshot or description, with a link to the full regional guide.

Provisional map. Our own schematic drawing of Leonida, not the game map and not to scale. The layout of the regions follows public reconstructions as reported by the press. Positions are approximate until launch.

The six regions of Leonida

Rockstar’s official site lists six regions to explore. Each has its own page with a map centered on it:

  • Vice City: Rockstar’s ‘sun and fun capital of America’: glamour, hustle and greed in one city, with Ocean Beach, Little Cuba and the cruise port.
  • Leonida Keys: Rockstar’s ‘gateway to paradise’: easygoing island life next to beautiful but dangerous waters. Jason’s story starts here.
  • Grassrivers: ‘The untamable jewel of Leonida’s crown’, in Rockstar’s words: alligators, mangroves and stranger things in the wetlands.
  • Port Gellhorn: ‘Leonida’s forgotten coast’: cheap motels, closed attractions and empty strip malls in a faded holiday town.
  • Ambrosia: Leonida’s industrial heartland: the Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides the jobs, and a local biker gang provides the rest.
  • Mount Kalaga National Park: A national landmark on Leonida’s northern border, with hunting, fishing and off-road trails, and backwoods full of ‘paranoid radicals’.

How big is the GTA 6 map?

Rockstar has given comparisons, not a figure. Aaron Garbut, co-head of Rockstar North, told Game Informer the map is about twice the size of GTA V’s and Rockstar’s largest by some degree. The New York Times reported it is about three times the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2, and that Vice City alone is about twice the size of Los Santos.

Any number in square kilometers is an estimate by fans or outlets. Rockstar’s narrative lead Rupert Humphries also told Game Informer that the story will not take you everywhere, so exploring is part of seeing the whole map.

What the world looks like

  • Weather: local, persistent and dynamic. It can rain in one area and not another, and tropical storms and hurricanes are confirmed. Our weather and wildlife guide has the details.
  • Wildlife: more than 170 species, including over 60 bird species and over 30 land mammals, according to Game Informer.
  • Interiors: Garbut says the team reached a critical mass of interiors. See our GTA 6 interiors roundup.
  • Travel: a ride-share option was reported in the Game Informer coverage, alongside cars, bikes, boats and aircraft.
  • Map screen: previews showed a minimap with 3D buildings and, when you are wanted, a search area instead of individual police markers.

Is there an official GTA 6 map?

Not in full. The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a $399.99 collector’s box shipping on November 19, includes a double-sided poster with a map of Leonida on the back. A product image briefly showed part of it before Rockstar replaced it with a version without labels, as reported by Notebookcheck. Fan-made maps exist, built from trailers and leaks, but none is official.

Our map does not copy them. It uses our own schematic, Rockstar’s official descriptions and official screenshots, and we will update it with positions checked in the game. Our earlier GTA 6 map update covers how leaks changed the community’s picture of Leonida.

What is still unknown

  • The official map size and the exact coastline.
  • County and district names beyond those Rockstar has published. Names such as Vice-Dale County come from leaks.
  • Collectibles, hidden packages and activities by location. They will be added to this map after launch.
