Who is Brother Marcus?
Marcus has been fighting a gang war for over seven years and is said to control the drug trade in Vice City. His police file lists bombings, executions and narcotics dealing, and notes that he dresses as “Sister Elisha” on Saturday nights. In his speech, “Babylon” means the police, government agents, politicians and judges, and removing these “minions of Babylon” is what most of his jobs are about.
Marcus in the story
In 1997 the player is blackmailed by the corrupt Vice Squad officer Samuel Deever into taking down the Rastas. Marcus answers by offering protection if the player joins him instead. Your choice changes how the chapter opens:
- Keep working for Deever: he sends you to destroy a limousine carrying drugs from Cuba. The blast turns out to have killed Deever’s wife, and Marcus tells you it is safer to work for him.
- Join Marcus from the start: he welcomes you to the Rastas and points you to more work at three groups of payphones.
Marcus later takes revenge on Deever by sending you and three Rastas to his house to kill Deever and his corrupt drug squad.
