The GTA Online Clone Slasher is a doppelganger killer that hunts you during the Halloween Slashers Event and looks like the character you created. It arrived in the Halloween 2022 event with The Criminal Enterprises update and comes back for limited periods. In the third week of the Halloween 2024 event, killing the Clone Slasher for the Weekly Challenge earned the Black Creepy Cat Mask.

How the Clone Slasher behaves
The Clone Slasher can turn up anywhere in San Andreas between 01:00 and 06:00 while the Slashers Event is active. It only moves when you move. It turns hostile when it gets close enough to you or when you attack it, and it behaves the same way as the other slashers.
When the Clone Slasher spawns
A Slasher can only appear when all of these are true:
- You joined the session at least 16 minutes ago. After one spawns for you there is a 15-minute cooldown.
- You are in freeroam and not inside a building.
- You are on foot or in a normal vehicle. Aircraft, boats, weaponized vehicles and special vehicles do not count.
Only one slasher can be active in a session at a time, and more players in the session raise the odds that one of them is hunted. The Slasher appears a little behind you with a unique sound effect and shows as a red dot on the map.
How to survive or kill the Clone Slasher
Slashers follow relentlessly with a huge health pool: they can survive several explosions and cannot be ragdolled, though they can be stunned. The encounter ends when you or the Slasher dies. It despawns if it cannot reach you for too long, such as when you swim, if another event starts, or if you leave the area. It also despawns exactly five minutes after being spotted if you only lead it around.
The design comes from the 2019 film Us, which features doppelgangers who attack a family.
