GTA Online Transform Races are a variation of Stunt Races that change your vehicle mid-race, released on October 17, 2017 in the continuation of the Smuggler’s Run update during Transform Race Week. Up to 16 players race over land, sea and air, and the launch week made 15 of the tracks available.

How Transform Races work
The big difference from ordinary stunt events is the transformer checkpoint, which turns your car into another vehicle type: trucks, planes, helicopters, boats, bikes or even a parachute. A race has at least three transformations. A second checkpoint type, the Warp checkpoint, teleports you elsewhere, and warps come in pairs. “Warped” is one race that uses them.
With Custom Vehicles on, you choose your own base vehicle and get your personal transform vehicle if you own one, such as your Oppressor. If not, or when Custom Vehicles is off, you get a stock version in a generic colour. Tracks still rely on hamster tubes and raised platforms, with new props like cones and larger tubes.

Inferno joined during the Halloween Surprise 2017 event. 16 more arrived with FH-1 Hunter Week (such as Acropolis Now, Dam Control and Twister), 7 with the Transform Race and Creator Updates Week, and another 7 during Transform Races Week for The Chop Shop update.
Transform Races Week bonuses
From October 17 to October 26, 2017 earnings were doubled in Transform Races and Lamar’s Contact Missions. Several vehicles were 25% off, namely LF-22 Starling, V-65 Molotok, Buckingham Alpha-Z1, Grotti Visione and Ocelot XA-21, as were engine, turbo, suspension and handling upgrades. The Premium Race was 45° (Motorcycles) from October 18 to October 23, then Green Machine (Super) from October 24 to October 30, with Time Trials at Down Chiliad and then Del Perro Pier.
