Overview of the Adversary Mode
The Hunting Pack (Get Lamar) series is an Adversary Mode in GTA Online where players split into two teams: Attackers and Defenders. One player drives the Youga Custom as Lamar Davis, whose van is filled with burning LD Organics, impairing his vision and putting him in danger. The goal is to either escort Lamar safely or stop him before he reaches the finish zone.
The IV variant is a new map layout added as part of the A Safehouse in the Hills update. The gameplay structure remains identical to the previous versions, but the route and terrain change, creating new tactical challenges.
Mission Characters
- Lamar Davis – The target and driver of the smoking Youga Custom. He must stay above minimum speed to avoid passing out.
- Grove Street Families – Defenders who protect Lamar and escort the van.
- Ballas & Vagos – Attackers trying to stop the van and force Lamar to fail.
Mission Objective
For Defenders
Your goal is to protect Lamar and ensure he reaches the finish zone. You must keep attackers away, maintain the van’s speed, and clear obstacles. If Lamar slows down too much, the pass‑out bar fills and the mission fails. Unlike earlier versions, this bar does not decrease once it rises.
For Attackers
Your objective is to stop the van by ramming it, blocking it, or reducing its speed long enough for Lamar to pass out. Coordinated attacks are essential to overwhelm the defenders.
Mission Locations (Series Overview)
While the video showcases the IV map, the Hunting Pack (Get Lamar) series includes multiple locations across San Andreas. These are the official locations for the mode:
- Grove Street, Davis → Pacific Bluffs Country Club (Get Lamar I)
- Rockford Hills → South Shambles Street, El Burro Heights (Get Lamar II)
- Stoner Cement Works, Grand Senora Desert → Puerto Del Sol Yacht Club, La Puerta (Get Lamar III)
The IV variant follows the same gameplay structure but uses a new map layout introduced in the A Safehouse in the Hills update. The video demonstrates the new environment and route.
How the Mission Works
1. Lamar Starts in the Youga Custom
Lamar drives a smoking LD Organics van, which constantly threatens to knock him out. He must maintain a minimum speed to survive.
2. Teams Split Into Attackers and Defenders
- Defenders escort Lamar and clear the path.
- Attackers attempt to stop the van using aggressive driving tactics.
3. The Route Progresses Through the New IV Map
The new map layout introduces tighter turns, elevation changes, and more opportunities for ambushes. The environment forces both teams to adapt quickly.
4. The Mission Ends When…
- Defenders win if Lamar reaches the finish zone.
- Attackers win if Lamar stops or passes out.
How to Succeed as Defenders
Stay Close to Lamar
You must stay near the van at all times. Quick reactions help you block attackers and keep Lamar moving.
Use Your Vehicles as Shields
Position your car between attackers and Lamar. This tactic absorbs damage and prevents ramming attempts.
Clear the Road Ahead
Attackers often set up ambushes. Drive ahead briefly to disrupt their formation.
Communicate Constantly
Short, clear callouts help your team react to threats and maintain formation.
How to Succeed as Attackers
Coordinate Multi‑Angle Hits
A single attacker rarely stops the van. Surround Lamar and strike from multiple sides.
Target Tight Corners
The IV map includes narrow sections where the van slows naturally. These are ideal ambush points.
Block, Don’t Just Ram
Parking sideways in front of Lamar is often more effective than hitting him.
Watch the Pass‑Out Bar
Because the bar never decreases, even brief slowdowns help you win.
Why Hunting Pack (Get Lamar) IV Stands Out
This version adds a fresh route, new terrain challenges, and updated team dynamics, making it one of the most strategic variants of the mode. The combination of Lamar’s chaotic van, rival gangs, and high‑speed escort gameplay creates a fast, intense, and replayable mission.
