The mission begins with a simple, almost mundane instruction: steal a bus. This isn’t a high-speed heist of a rare supercar or an armored truck. It’s a common Los Santos Transit bus, the kind that blends seamlessly into the city’s background noise. After locating one at the Dashound Bus Center in Textile City and unceremoniously ejecting its driver, the real plan unfolds. The objective shifts to picking up passengers at various bus stops. But these aren’t ordinary commuters; they’re members of the rival Ballas gang, blissfully unaware they’re boarding a vehicle commandeered for their demise.
This phase of the mission is a masterclass in tension. As you navigate the bus through the streets, adhering to traffic laws to avoid suspicion, you collect groups of purple-clad gangsters. They board, take their seats, and wait for their stop, all while you act as their chauffeur, driving them deeper into the trap. Each stop adds more enemies to your payload, transforming the mundane act of public transport into a calculated act of war.
Springing the Trap
Once the bus is full of unsuspecting Ballas, the destination is revealed: a desolate scrapyard in La Puerta. The player pulls into a designated spot, and the doors hiss open. As the Ballas disembark, confused by their grimy surroundings, the trap is sprung. Grove Street Families members emerge from the shadows, unleashing a hail of gunfire on their rivals. The scrapyard erupts into a chaotic firefight, but the player’s role is already complete. With the ambush underway, the new objective is simply to drive the now-empty bus back to the heart of Families territory: Grove Street.
Defending the Home Turf
Returning to the iconic cul-de-sac feels like a victory lap, but the battle is far from over. The player is directed to a rooftop vantage point overlooking the street, where an arsenal of sniper rifles and other heavy weaponry awaits. The Ballas, enraged by the ambush, are coming for revenge. To draw them out, the player must first destroy a nearby gas cage, triggering a massive explosion that serves as a declaration of war. What follows is an intense wave-based defense sequence. From the rooftop, you must pick off incoming waves of Ballas as they swarm Grove Street, turning their retaliatory strike into a turkey shoot.
Chasing Down the Leader
After thinning their ranks, the Ballas leader makes a desperate attempt to flee in a purple Gallivanter Baller. The mission shifts gears into a high-speed pursuit. The player must abandon their sniper’s nest, find a vehicle, and chase the leader through the dense urban landscape of Los Santos. This chase sequence tests your driving skills as you weave through traffic and stay on the tail of the escaping gang boss.
The pursuit takes a dramatic turn as the leader, cornered and desperate, seeks refuge in the last place you’d expect: the Mission Row police station. He abandons his vehicle and sprints inside, setting the stage for a chaotic final confrontation.
An Unlikely Alliance with the Law
With the objective now to kidnap the Ballas leader, the player must storm the LSPD precinct. This escalates the situation dramatically, instantly earning a three-star wanted level. The police station becomes a three-way warzone, with the player fighting against both the LSPD and the remaining Ballas. After battling through the lobby and into the back offices, you finally corner the leader. With him in tow, the final challenge is to escape the police station, get back to a vehicle, and lose the swarm of cops now hunting you down.
The mission concludes with a tense drive back to the scrapyard, this time with the captured leader as your passenger. Delivering him to the designated spot seals the Ballas’ fate and marks the successful completion of a brilliantly orchestrated plan. “One Way Ticket” stands out as a testament to the creativity of the GTA Online community, blending stealth, large-scale combat, and thrilling chases into one cohesive and memorable experience.
