The GTA Online Lunar New Year Stunt Races are a limited-time series of four lap races with fireworks, lanterns and a nitrous boost. They arrived with the Agents of Sabotage update on January 23, 2025 during the Year of the Snake Week, and the series returned during the Itali Classic Week with one new race on February 12, 2026.

How Lunar New Year Stunt Races work
The core rules match normal Stunt Races, with extra effects layered on top. Fireworks keep going off along the course, some shaped like a star, smiley face, heart or snake, and floating lanterns often appear just after a jump where they can knock your car off balance. The host can switch contact on or off, change the weather and adjust the other options shared with race events.
If you pick the stock Penumbra FF, it gets the Lunar New Year livery, which you can unlock for the car by taking part in these races.
Nitrous boost and how to refill it
A nitrous boost unlocks soon after the start. It works like in Drag Races: flames shoot from the exhaust and acceleration jumps, and at high speed it can push the car past normal top speeds. You can toggle it on and off, and the remaining boost is shown beside the health and armour bars at the bottom left. You need it to clear some of the long jumps.
- Drive through checkpoints, each of which refills a small sliver.
- Perform mid-air stunts such as frontflips, backflips and flatspins. Each one adds 25% and they stack within the same jump.
- Hit the yellow pads placed in some parts of the track.

All four appear in the Stunt Races list with the “Lunar New Year” prefix.

Spectacle runs past Vespucci Beach, Little Seoul, Pillbox Hill and the Del Perro Pier area, with boost pads and several jumps big enough for stunts. The Senora Derby has its own page with its route and checkpoint count.
