Rockstar’s official date for the game is November 19, 2026. Take-Two repeated it in its August 7 earnings release, and Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson told Famitsu in late August that the game will be released on time. Since then, Rockstar has dated an album and a collector’s box for launch day, so the GTA 6 release date has stayed firm.

GTA 6 platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
GTA 6 runs on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, including the cheaper Xbox Series S. The PlayStation 5 version is listed as PS5 Pro Enhanced, although Sony and Rockstar have not said what that includes. A PC release date has not been confirmed.

GTA 6 pre-load date and physical edition
Players who pre-order a digital version can start downloading the game on November 12, 2026, a full week before launch. The boxed version contains a download code rather than a game disc, and it goes on sale the same day so that its buyers can pre-load as well. That means you need an internet connection and enough storage even with the physical edition, and a console without a disc drive loses nothing.
