The GTA Online ULP Counterintelligence mission is the second job in the Operation Paper Trail strand from The Criminal Enterprises update. Agent ULP has you hack FIB surveillance drones, walk into a trap at a motel and then defuse a bomb inside a Youga Classic 4×4 before delivering the van to an IAA safehouse. Counterintelligence walkthrough
ULP calls first. The hardware stolen in the previous job confirms that the Duggans plan to fix gas prices by buying technology from the FIB’s seized assets, but the Agency is still analysing what that technology is. Your break-in at the FIB headquarters has drawn attention, so ULP orders a counterintelligence operation against the Bureau.
- Hack the two FIB surveillance drones with the SecuroServ app. One flies around La Mesa and the other around El Burro Heights. Stay within range until each hack finishes, and do not let a drone be destroyed.
- ULP narrows the base to one of three motels: the Bilingsgate Motel, the Pink Cage Motel or the Perrera Beach Motel. Go there and break into the room.
- Give ULP access to the laptop controlling the drones. He realises it is an FIB sting, and anesthetic gas knocks you out.
- Wake up in the back of a Youga Classic 4×4 in a vacant lot in Cypress Flats, surrounded by LSPD and FIB officers. The FIB has planted a bomb inside to frame the IAA.
- Defuse the bomb within six minutes and two lives. The minigame has you aim a beam through mirror nodes to collect packets and avoid firewalls, and you must clear two stages.
- Drive the van to the IAA safehouse outside Sandy Shores. Keep its health bar from running out, because the IAA need it intact as evidence, and expect a permanent wanted level in the city.
Tips
The bomb minigame is similar to the terminals from The Doomsday Scenario, so pick a mirror node, route the beam through the packets and keep it away from the firewalls. Once the bomb is off, lose the cops before you head for the drop-off.
