GTA Chinatown Wars Vehicle Missions: Vehicles and Rare Cars

GTA Chinatown Wars vehicle missions are side missions that start as soon as you get into the right vehicle. The game has six of them: Paramedic, Firefighter, Vigilante, Taxi Driver, Noodle Run and Excess Delivery. This guide lists the vehicle for each one, followed by the one-off special vehicles that appear in story missions.

Key facts

  • Start method: enter the matching vehicle
  • Count: 6 vehicle side missions
  • Full checklist: see the completion guide for every side mission to finish
  • Special vehicles: many are mission-only and cannot be kept

Vehicle for each mission

Each job below is triggered by the vehicle named next to it. The complete list of tasks to finish is in the completion checklist.

Side mission Vehicle that starts it
Paramedic Ambulance
Firefighter Fire Truck
Vigilante Police Patrol, NOOSE Enforcer or FIB Rancher
Taxi Driver Cabbie
Noodle Run Dragon Wagon
Excess Delivery Alphamail

Noodle Run uses the Dragon Wagon and Excess Delivery uses the Alphamail van, so look for those if you want the delivery work. The Riding Shotgun runs also start by entering a Cavalcade FXT or Bobcat; see the Riding Shotgun guide.

Special vehicles in the story

Outside the six GTA Chinatown Wars vehicle missions, several story missions give you a one-of-a-kind car, boat or truck. Some can be kept and some cannot, so check the table before you destroy or abandon one.

Vehicle Where and what Can you keep it?
Resolution X Pimp His Ride: stolen from a street race champion; after the garage mods it moves left and right at times The special ability cannot be kept. If you hold it until the timer runs out, which fails the mission, it loses the ability
Jetmax Missed the Boat?: carries a crate on the back after the trade No, it is driven away after the mission
Yankee The special Ammu-Nation delivery van seen around Liberty City; the driver is always armed with a shotgun You can pull the driver out and drive it to the nearest secluded safehouse, but it is usually too big to save in a garage
Flatbed Dragon Haul Z (a unique Flatbed with a dragon head); Stealing the Show (throw fifteen crates to Zhou Ming’s Bobcat) No, it cannot be saved in a garage or kept as your own vehicle
Cognoscenti Pursuit Farce: a unique violet car Kenny gives you No, one of the spies drives it away after the mission
Banshee Chan’s purple Banshee with red stripes, in Jackin’ Chan and Clear the Pier Yes. In Clear the Pier, jack it when Chan slows or crashes, kill Chan and his bodyguard, then save it in a garage
Comet A purple and black Comet outside Chan’s Garage; a similar one in Raw Deal in an alley on the way to Hsin’s Club Yes. The Raw Deal car can complete the mission and then be saved
Limo A black Limo always outside Hsin Jaoming’s house; also in Pursuit Farce and Stealing the Show Complete Guy’s random encounter to obtain it
Chopper Lester’s unique black Chopper, always outside the Burger Shot in Dukes Always parked there
Reefer So Near, Yet Sonar: a Salvage variant with a crane No, it is driven away after the mission
Sparrow Copter Carnage Pass or fail the mission to obtain it
Recovery The Tow Job: a red Recovery that fits in safehouse garages and Pay ‘N’ Sprays, which normal Recoveries cannot enter Special because of its size
Destroyer and Zhouboat Torpedo Run: you use a torpedo-armed Destroyer to wreck Zhou Ming’s Zhouboat; a second Zhouboat is docked at Colony Island afterwards The Destroyer cannot be found in normal gameplay
Burrito Sources (Melanie Mallard’s), Half Cut (a grey one), Cash & Burn (the Irish-American Killers’ dark, faster ones) Yes. Take Melanie’s after Chan leaves in Sources, the grey one after Half Cut, and the Cash & Burn ones after the mission

If you want to keep the Limo, finish Guy’s mission, which is detailed on the random characters page. Many of these vehicles belong to people and gangs described in the GTA Chinatown Wars lexicon. For more side missions, browse the time trial challenges and the Gun Club courses.
