Shift Work and its gold medals
The first race is offered by Hao during the Strangers and Freaks mission Shift Work. After finishing it you can replay it from the replay menu, where you can attempt the gold medal objectives: complete a lap within 01:20, finish within 02:50, and finish with fewer than 5 collisions. The prize from a replay is not paid out. Alternatively, meet the racers in Chamberlain Hills: the entry fee is $100 and the prize $450, but Hao does not take part and the gold medal tasks are unavailable.
Which vehicles are allowed
Most cars work. The banned list is any aircraft, watercraft, bicycle, emergency vehicle or utility vehicle, and any motorcycle except in the Vespucci Canals race, which is motorcycle-only.
Hao in the story
Hao also has a brief role in Father/Son, when Franklin takes Amanda’s car to Los Santos Customs, and appears in Gauntlet if you picked the subtle approach in Planning the Big Score. If you like racing, try the sea races, the off-road races and the triathlons.
